Children Are Sweet but Don’t Let Them Eat Too Many!

Encouraging children go to the dentist can sometimes be a challenge but it is the most essential appointment to keep. As dentists, we often see a lot of tooth decay in young children’s teeth – decay which could have been entirely preventable. It’s essential that we get patients thinking about what they and their family are eating and encourage them to make sure their diet is balanced.

For good oral health, the key is to avoid sugary snacks and drinks, as this will help protect teeth from decay. We are delighted that one of our dental assistants, Ellie McGrath, will be commencing an NVQ in Oral Health in January 2019.

Once qualified Ellie will assist in running children’s clinics where they can receive their examinations, hygienist visit and dietary advice all in one visit. This will enable one to one discussions with children and parents regarding dietary habits, diet sheets can be analysed and advice given.

Give one of our team a call on 01428 605594 to book your child’s first appointment.
